I see no problem with the archived historic footage being edited and reposted as Stock Footage. I was a little confused at first where the clips were coming from. As an editor, I think that if I wanted to use the opening scene from "The Vampire Bat" in a video, then I would rather download the 57 MB version Mr. Price has set up then downloading the entire 1.5 Gig original movie and then just using the first minute of it and deleting the rest. I would say that I would rather see Mr. Price post new, current materials (His new clips are better than most I have paid money for over the years). My thought is, if Mr. Price donates his time and materials, I for one am grateful for anything he does. I suspect it took several hours to download, edit and repost the opening to "The Vampire Bat". I did like the suggestion of links as an alternative. Using Keywords may help too. Perhaps a Keyword or phrase such as "Re-edited Archive Clip" so that Archive users know at a glance that the original full version is elsewhere in the Archive. I think Keywords are going to be even more vital in the Stock Footage part of the Archive then most. If there are 50,000 small one minute clips here, then Keywords are going to be the only way to find anything. I suspect the whole thing will naturally evolve as we go on. I would like to say thank you to the Archive staff for expressing an opinion in this. I would guess Mr. Price can now decide for himself how best to donate his time and skills.........
